CORONA VIRUS OUTBREAK. Radio phone in questions.

The UK has a good, responsive media, following the emergence of the COVID-19, Corona virus, the press office at my University of Exeter, Medical School has been very busy. They have been supporting me to get the Public Health message out in a measured and informative manner.

By now we have managed to give media interviews across many local, national and many international media outlets. It has been a busy, sleepless time. It has been a pleasure to rise to the emergency challenge, to deliver good, clam, informative and at times probing media interviews.

Whilst I have fronted the media, it is important to remember that backing and supporting me is my media department, they are minding my back and this is very crucial.

As scientists it is easy to get carried away with talking about our subject matter, however, getting the message across to the general population is an art and craft skill too. For all the prompts and support and ensuring I am measured plus never censoring me, I am very proud to be a part of the team at University of Exeter, Medical School.
