My interview with Charlotte Hawkins at #GMB TV.
I discussed important issues, (well ahead of formal sources) such as reviewing dynamically the screening and isolation of returnees to the UK. This requires ability to change direction at receiving ports of entry within hours of becoming aware of a emerging #Covid19 in any country.
As the #COVID-19 is in circulation around the world, additional information to people leaving the UK, ought to include, that they may also be asked to go into quarantine upon their return, if the situation in the country they are returning from warrants this.
If strict containment is going to be possible, then in the early containment stages it is necessary to be extra cautious, cast a wider net, but at the same time be evidence lead.
We also discussed, semantics around when to call this #Coronavirus, #COVID19 a Pandemic. It is, as I mentioned on Monday 24th of February, behaving as a Pandemic. I feel more so today that it is still behaving as a Pandemic.
