Again, with a global crisis it is important that we talk to everyone and every nation and work together with, for example, the WHO.

The presenter had me on the ropes and wanted an explanation with regards to the “herd immunity” strategy supposed to have been suggested for the UK.

I explained the matter as not a good idea to achieve herd immunity via infection and that the normal way is to get herd immunity is via immunisation programmes.

We also discussed NHS capacity and ability for the UK to manage with the rise in the number of cases. I mentioned we have new hospitals specifically for the purpose of treating COVID19 patients, I said it would be important to maintain infection control in these new settings and new constructions, they were never designed to be hospitals, but are converted exhibition halls, definitely consult with expert aerodynamic engineers, this must be a priority and not to be ignored.

RT France wanted to ask me about the Prime Minister & I said, he has been looked after by experts, it would be nice for people, all people with the Corona Virus infection to have a system of follow up for patients at home.
