My interview with Stephen Dixon

My interview with Stephen Dixon (@skystephen) on Sky News. 1-11-2020, 0715hrs.

We got it wrong with controlling the #Coronavirus pandemic, unfortunately we now face a second lockdown.

We have to implement remote teaching of older children. If not all children all the time, then at least on a rotational basis, as this reduces number of children in the school at any one time. With schools open, other activities will also happen and thus it is not possible for a rapid decline in the number of new cases over the proposed one month second lockdown.

An uncontrolled return home by University students risks infecting family members. My advice would be test, assess and be sure the student is not infectious or incubating the Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 infection before returning home.

Address the issue of Christmas 2020. It cannot happen in the normal way, thus inform & prepare people about this.

Hand over, over the lockdown period, the tracing element of control measures to Local Gov., with funding, they can and will do a much better job.
