Importance of creating bigger control areas rather than a patchwork of smaller and different level tiers. A bigger area creating a bigger firebreak is a better strategy. whatever tier a place is in it is better to act with much restriction and caution.

PM Johnson says we need restrictions otherwise the successes will be undone, I suggest that much success of controlling the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic will be undone with total lifting of restrictions on the 23rd of December for 5 days. We elect our politicians to make good and unpopular decisions.

Mass testing in Liverpool was a screening exercise not a testing exercise. It is thus not right to claim it is the testing in Liverpool which brought down the infection numbers, it may just as well be the public health measures such as raising awareness, better infection control awareness and adherence to it, as well as social distancing and an intensive spotlight on the high case numbers which brought the case numbers down.
