Coronavirus, new variants, rising case numbers, vaccines and schools

Thank you @DiamondJimbo on @LBCNews, good conversation.

Hospitals are full and now is not the time to be out and about in circulation, there is widespread viral activity in the community. Cancel new years eve gatherings.

Rise in case numbers is probably multifactorial, human behaviours, a dropping of the guard in terms of infection control measures. It may also be aided by a possible more infectious variant.

Variant is not more severe disease causing and with better hospital management, the survival is also better now compared to early on n the pandemic.

Schools reopening post Christmas is a major issue, especially if the dominant new variant stainr is more infections and disease causing in children.

Consider online teaching , assist families with the tools to be able to do this.

The vaccines will eventually be a route out of this pandemic, we need to have a huge immunisation programme and immunise at a never before seen operation on a grand scale, running 24/7, every day.

With the deployment of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine, GPs have done a great job in immunising people at minimal costs compared to the centralised test and tracing system which has cost a phenomenal amount of money.
