“The vaccination campaign begins in the United Kingdom this Tuesday”
Lots of conversations, almost an attempt to cast doubt on the UK regulatory authority, the, MHRA, giving the Pfizer – BioNTech vaccine the go ahead to be used as a vaccine for the coronavirus against the SARS-CoV-2 infection.
I explained it is no different to the Sputnic V or the AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine the only difference being the Pfizer-BioNTech is a nanoparticle. A lipid coated nanoparticle containing the mRNA inside. The AstraZeneca or Sputnic 5 are using a Adenovirus to transport the mRNA instructions into the cell and then to make the spike protein to make the antibodies and immune memory.
The great news is mankind has managed to make a vaccine. Time will tell how good they are and what good news 2021 brings.
