Vaccines and strategies for “the greatest good for the greatest number”

The new UK strategy of vaccinating with the one dose followed by a second dose later, will cover more people (double the number) & prevent severe disease in a larger number of people plus protect the NHS too. Immunising by using vaccines from two different platforms will still achieve the final aim of inducing immunity albeit by using different vaccine platforms. In a crisis this strategy is reasonable.

A must do is, deliver the vaccine as fast as possible to as many as possible.

It calls for a 24/7, 365 days operation to vaccinate at pace and also get the clear message across that the Gov means business and is unleashing all levers of state to rapidly immunise a large percentage of the population.
